From Ford’s Creative Pocket Video Cam and we finally have the official data, together with all its features. Had already seen, but were not official data.

The Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam fits, as we have said on other occasions, in a range of video cameras with a very clear mission: record video with ease and move that content to your computer and then to the Internet is child’s play . Or at least that is not as complicated as it is sometimes working with AVCHD formats such as cameras or high definition.

The video of the Creative can get by $ 100. Get a video compact and weighing just 86 grams, we can always take it over.

The battery, fundamental aspect gives to burn for just over two hours for something so compact that is not bad. It does so in an internal memory of 2 GB, which gives us for about an hour of video. If we increase the recording time, we must lower the resolution and get another extra hour.

As you may have imagined the resolution of the camera is not the best market let alone, but for many is more than enough. With 640×480 pixels we can upload the video to the Internet and even watch it on traditional televisions. The format in which AVI is recorded at 30 fps. It is an interesting option if we do not have compact camera, because the current record higher quality video with this camcorder Creative.

But the specifications do not stay here, but they also have a 2-inch screen and a digital zoom insignificant 2 increases.

But this camera might be a good competition for the Casio Exilim EX-Pro F1. It falls short of the 1200 frames per second of this, but he remains in some more reasonable than 300 frames per second.

Its resolution as camera is 6 megapixels and has a way ISO 3200, to take pictures with low light. It has 8 GB of internal memory that can be expanded through MMC and SD cards or have connections to view the result directly on the TV.
Samsung HMX20C Review
The main difference between them is their form, which in the case of the Samsung is HMX20C video camera, while the model is Casio camera, although the benefits are quite similar in both cases.

The price of this camera that, for now, has been put up for sale in Korea, is about 560 euros a change.

Creative Vado, recording at low prices

Although he saw much sense not to Flip Video Ultra, a low resolution and its benefits, a very tight and a great ease of use have made, at least in the United States, use of a massively.

Because of this, other manufacturers have similar models, such as Creative Vado, a camera that is presented with a performance virtually identical to those of the Flip. We speak of a 2-inch screen, video capture to resolution 640 x 480 pixels, up to 2 hours recording (twice the Flip) at its 2 GB of capacity and software to upload video directly to YouTube.

It connects to the computer via the USB port and also has a TV output, all in a weight of less than 100 grams.

And is that not everyone needs a high-performance video camera and, often, as adjusted prices of these models make them fairly attractive if we do not want to get a professional result but something fast and fun to record our videos.

Incidentally, the photograph depicting the entry is not the Creative Vado, but the Flip, but it is more than likely that Creative is quite similar in their design.

Panasonic SD9, we tested

The Panasonic SD9 is one of the compact Video Cameras that are being fashionable. Still several interesting things: compact size, burning in memory cards and FullHD resolution.

The Panasonic SD9, which has recently been galandonada with the prize types (association of the Technical Image Press) for best video this year 2008, has been in our hands for a few days to evaluate it.

Before seeing the full analysis, we advance that the image quality is quite good, but what is most striking is its size, smaller than we could imagine, but for the same reason that has left us a couple of doubts that are more inconvenience to real problems.

From the Panasonic SD9 we will focus first on their specifications. To begin with a video camera that boasts record in high definition (1920×1080p) with the help of memory cards and SDHC AVCHD format. As we shall see, these aspects have positive points but also negative.

Size and management

To save on memory cards is an advantage when it comes to making a lightweight and compact Video Camera. The size of this Video Camera really surprised us, and their weight the same, with less than 300 grams. Despite your size, management is comfortable, and only if we have a very big hand can lead to discomfort and problems that can lead us by example to clog or introduce noise into the microphone. We take longer to discuss one of the most notable absences from this Video Camera: the mic. While incorporating has been successful, and the camera is aimed at fans who will have more than enough with the micro integrated, providing an entry had risen more note of the Video Camera SD9 few tenths.

Regarding the sound, saying that he recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1. and has zoom function into the microphone, which picks up directionality as we approach with the zoom to a plea. EÑ zoom incidentally is 10 increases, and control over it, soft.

Controls and connections

The points that we have less like this Panasonic Video Camera SD9 has been the subject of checks, their location or modifying them. It is certainly a price to pay if we have the size so small that they have gained with this video camera.

The joystick to control the menus, that the model SD5 and others, was on the outside, has been switched to the inside of the screen, so that we can no longer operate the camera with one hand. And really what we miss.

Yes they have more right to take the view very interesting two functions: Pre-Rec, which as you have, when we checked, is continuously recorded the previous three seconds to open the camera to record. Imagine a scene that must be recorded quickly, because when they open the screen or turn on the camera, the system already abrá recorded the previous three seconds. Great. In addition, the camera comes on and puts into operation in a few tenths of a second. We liked a lot.

The other feature that Panasonic has taken abroad to highlight, is the new face detection, he has worked very well.

As always, the manual controls are an option in this Panasonic Video Camera. We also note the OIS image stabilization, which works better every day (Panasonic great job in this aspect), and the improvements that councils and the interface we will record while commenting, but they occupy most of the screen, which annoys times.

In the interface and menus Panasonic has maintained the good work of previous cameras.
Panasonic SD9 Review
On the issue of connections, the most notable addition to the USB port, HDMI connectivity. The small size of the camera makes connections are scattered everywhere. In the case of HDMI port has been hidden under the battery, but is not much problem because as we shall see, to connect the Video Camera to your computer or the television, we must connect the power supply, although the battery Tenaga autonomy to play well content. We never liked this decision, but usual.
Panasonic SD9 Review
Operation and screen

As we have said, launching the Video Camera SD9 not cost us anything. It turns on instantly and is ready to burn. It does so in SD and SDHC, but definitely recommend the type and SDHC class at least 4 to ensure proper quality recording.

The results are quite acceptable, perhaps we could put some but when the brightness is low, but little more. The 3CCD technology can be seen in the image quality and color, as usual, rezuman color and contrast. And the goal Leica is always a guarantee. On the subject of photos, remains a little extra absurd that we will draw some trouble very small.

The recording had to do with the screen completely. It is 2.7 inches, but seems smaller by the overall size of the Video Camera. But it is time we make the touch, because the operation of the camera would be better. The joystick has never liked us, although its management is effective.

Disadvantages

The battery is one of the protagonists of the disadvantages that we found this camera. The model of autonomy which comes standard is one hour, which is not bad for a camera so compact.

The problem comes when we recrgarla therefore we must remove it from the camera. But to do so, we must open the screen, and if we have the Pre-Rec function activated, the camera will turn on, will open the lens and immediately turns off the camera, which leave open.

Nor do we have liked to move videos to the computer, which has removed the battery and use mandatory food, which incidentally is connected beneath the battery.

The last aspect of which we complain, but not the fault of this Video Camera, is AVCHD format, which has given us a thousand headaches and we could only edit properly with the program Pinnacle Studio 11. Much remains to improve all the brands on this format.
Panasonic SD9 Review
Our final recommendation is that unless you want a very small camera, the Panasonic SD5 gives us almost the same thing and it gave us better results in the test.

With the new Sanyo DMX-CA8 it has done and also has the added bonus of a video camera that is water resistant.

The Sanyo DMX-CA8 reach the market around the world, by the end of next month, May, and will do so with an 8-megapixel sensor and technology of face detection so fashionable, both in video and photo mode, and even operate under water.

We are not talking about a camera that can be a bit wet or just be resistant to spray or rain. This model of ultra Video Camera can remain submerged up to one hour to 1.5 meters deep.

To record, the chamber Sayo uses the most fashionable codec, H.264, with 60 fps in VGA mode and using an optical zoom, 5 increases.
Sanyo DMX-CA8 Review
This is not a camera for people who seek high definition but for lovers of adventures, possibly in aquatic environments, and they need a Video Camera proven solvency, light and manageable. Its price will be below 500 dollars.

Its maximum resolution of 1200×1080 is permitted to 30 images per second, achieved thanks to the 3CCD sensor. The negative point is that you need an external controller as a wireless controller, which already has a size slightly larger.

At home it might be interesting as a security camera, to hide in some recesses of the home and go unnoticed. However, they have not offered details of price or availability, although the full specifications and officers.

Panasonic SDR-S7 Review
The Video Camera Panasonic SDR-S7 is the latest model introduced by the company, and follows the trend in the design of previous models. What it does not take the picture quality in high definition, probably not increase much for its price.
Panasonic SDR-S7 Review
With this Video Camera SDR-S7, which weighs only 160 grams, can record video in 16:9 and 4:3 to 640×480 resolution using MPEG-2. A pity that the resolution is too low. In addition, the price is 270 euros, so that there could be increased somewhat. And do not expect hard disk or flash memory. The video is stored on SD memory cards.
