Toshiba Qosmio X305, another laptop to play

I do not entirely convince me finish, but it seems that many people are interested in laptops for gamers. Now the Toshiba Qosmio X305 joins those who already knew before, such as Alienware or Dell XPS high-end (as the one that we look at its day).

The fact is that this Toshiba Qosmio X305 attack again in the 17-inch, with a resolution of 1680×1050, Intel dual-core and 3 GHz and (possibly the Core 2 Extreme X9100, which assembles the latest high-end iMac) NVidia graphics, 1 GB of memory. The data are currently handle a leak, bringing more concrete specifications that will still wait a little longer.

Qosmio X305

The release date of this Qosmio X305 is scheduled for next July 14, the day on which curiously also feature the new Intel Montevina laptop. On other better price and we look forward to that day, although we can go almost assuring that it will be expensive, very expensive. Rather than our desktop computer to play.

Toshiba Portege G810 Review

Posted on June 15th, 2008

Toshiba Portege G810

Toshiba continues to gamble on phones equipped with Windows Mobile, the last of which is the Toshiba Portege G810, which includes most features that you would call a phone of this type.

The first is connectivity, with support both HSDPA and HSUPA, which ensures both download and upload data quickly. It also has Wi-Fi compatible with 802.11g for those occasions when it is available a network of this type.

The second is a good size touch screen, 2.8 inches, although he misses a better resolution, which goes only 320 x 240 pixels. The internal storage is low, but comes with a MicroSD card slot where you can install up to 4 GB of additional memory.
Toshiba Portege G810 Review
Of the other benefits of Toshiba Portege G810 stresses the camera, which has a 3 megapixel resolution, the GPS receiver with support from A-GPS, FM radio tuner with RDS and Bluetooth 2.0. Put up for sale within a few days and hope that not too late in arriving here.

Sony Walkman A820 Review

Posted on June 15th, 2008

Sony Walkman with video NWZ-modified A820 will arrive in Europe

Only a few days after filing and launch in Japan, we already have data on how, when and how prices will reach Spain recent Sony Walkman that played video and bluetooth lead.

sony walkman bluetooth video.png

The first thing you notice with his arrival in Europe is changing slightly denomination. Now renamed NWZ-range A820, and the models arrive NWZ-A826, A828 and A829, with capacities of 4, 8 and 16 GB, which is not nothing wrong. Prices start at 170 euros for the model with 4 GB of capacity, reaching EUR 220 intermediate and 340 euros a larger model with 16 GB of flash memory. Onto the European market in April.

In addition to the denominations, some of its features also change, the fact that in the old continent ATRAC format is not supported by new players, Sony strengthened and the abandonment of this proprietary format that has not shelved for the time being in versions for Japan. Nor bear the noise cancellation system. It also ignores the earphones of the Japanese version and in Europe which are provided with the models are of lower quality.
Sony Walkman Review
Despite these minor modifications, these new Sony players are very greedy: 2.4-inch screen with 320×240 resolution, wide internal space, with Bluetooth A2DP and ability to play videos in H.264, are its main attractions.

Celrun TV Review

Posted on June 15th, 2008

Celrun TV, complete media center

The Popcorn Hour we saw yesterday is only a media player, without recording capabilities to not have a TV tuner. Instead, it adds that Celrun TV feature, plus many of which included the Popcorn.

Celrun

Thus, support for video codecs is very broad: AVI, WMV, MPG, XviD, H.264 AVC, VC-1, … allowing the display resolution to FullHD. In the case of audio also falls short, with MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, Flac, … The files on your disk can store 320 GB of internal or external disks, which includes two USB 2.0 ports.

In the absence of one, has two tuners, one analog and one digital, which will enable us to record video. Its network connection, either by Ethernet as a Wi-Fi, facilitates streaming Internet.

It has outlets composite video, component, S-Video and HDMI. Unfortunately there is currently only available in Korea, because its features are more than interesting.

Walgreens Want Biggest LED Billboard

Walgreens Want Biggest LED Billboard

Walgreens is often a name associated with a friendly neighborhood store, but they too want a slice of prime time action in Times Square by installing the largest LED advertising billboard there, taking up to 12 million LEDs that make up a whopping 17,000 square feet of space – that’s over a third of an acre. The sign itself is able to pump out enough candlepower to shrug off the dreaded high noon sunlight that will turn smaller LED billboards into blurry images. There will be a total of 13 trillion programmable colors, although I don’t think we’ll ever get to see the entire amount displayed simultaneously. I wonder what Walgreens will advertise there – their weekly specials?

EarthLED EvoLux R LED Light Bulb

The EarthLED EvoLux R LED light bulb is not your grandpappy’s light bulb, as it is touted to be the “world’s most advanced light bulb.” How did it manage to arrive at such a proud conclusion? For starters, it comes with a 13 watt LED at its heart, offering an equivalent output of a 100 watt incandescent bulb, as well as the EvoDim feature which allows you to choose between three different output settings of 250, 750, and 950 lumens respectively, all without the need for a dedicated dimmer switch. These light bulbs will probably grace the homes of well-lined pockets considering the $100 price tag attached to each, and the company claims that the price works out to under $6 annually before it gives up the ghost. Non-dimmable versions go for $80 a pop.

Samsung working on new Q1 UMPC

Posted on: May 22, 2008

Samsung working on new Q1 UMPC

Guess Samsung has not ditched the Q1 UMPC idea just yet, as its engineers are hard at work on a second revision. Samsung won’t introduce anything revolutionary, but will instead build on the existing platform with a revamp of internal parts. Needless to say, we can look forward to faster and more spacious specifications, with perhaps some improvement to the current form factor. Word on the street has it that Samsung will be rolling out the third version of the Q1 UMPC at the beginning of 2009. Do you think this is a dead end for Samsung, or are they really on to something here?
